Torrensville kitchen opening
|
Friday the 16th of December 2011was a historic day for PISA with the official opening of the second kitchen in the western suburbs of Adelaide. PISA Italian Meals and Services realized that the need to establish a kitchen in the southern/western suburbs for our current clientele was an essential need to service more of the community and a way of delivering an even safer and reliable service. PISA approached the department for Families and Communities HACC program in late 2009 to discus and establish recurrent funding for the set up of this second kitchen in the Torrensville area. The funding was granted in early 2010 and the hunt was on for a suitable venue to set up this kitchen. Once found PISA also decided to establish a café to create an income that would be channeled back into the community and our volunteer program. Volunteers are the backbone of the PISA service. Friday the 16th December 2011 Official opening was an important milestone for PISA. We were delighted that the Hon. Jennifer Rankine came to officially opening the kitchen along with the other special guests: PISA would like to acknowledge and thank all of these special guests for their attendance and support on Friday. It was a wonderful occasion for PISA and we look forward to the New Year when the café will open and we will be able to sell meals to the public. |
